Cloud Peak Energy will be offering a sign-on bonus for relocation to Gillette Wyoming. Summary of Position: Provide backend system support and ensure integrity of data for all physical locations of the business. Aid in the growth of all team members furthering their interpersonal and technical aptitude. This position will be on-call nights and weekends. Essential Duties/Responsibilities Assist in maintaining existing IT systems and infrastructures. Troubleshoot and maintain SQL 2008, 2012, 2014 and 2016. Analyzing system logs and identifying potential issues with computer systems. Performing routine audits of systems and software. Performing backups. Applying operating system updates, patches and configuration changes. Installing and configuring SQL Server. Adding, removing or updating user account information, resetting passwords, etc. Answering technical queries. Responsible for documenting systems configuration. Troubleshooting any reported problems. System performance tuning. On-call after-hours for critical incident escalations. Qualifications: Knowledge and Relevant Experience Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems or equivalent two - four years of experience in Microsoft SQL Server. ITIL Foundations desired. MCDBA certification desired. MCITP Database Administrator certification desired. Skills: Forward looking action oriented team player that works well with cross functional groups. Must be able to learn, understand and apply new technologies. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrates initiative and resourcefulness with little or no supervision. Completes assignments with a high level of detail. Effective interpersonal skills. Manage multiple assignments simultaneously to successful conclusions. Must be able to manage competing demands, accept criticism and constructive feedback, while being extremely adaptable and flexible. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately. Ability to interface and communicate with operations personnel. Leadership/Management: Ability to act independently with minimal supervision. Limited assignments leading small teams on a variety of projects. Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is required to frequently sit with frequent forward bending and occasional rotation. The employee must rarely lift, carry and/or move up to 13 pounds and rarely lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The employee is required to rarely push or pull up to 45 pounds horizontally. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is required occasionally to walk; climb stairs; and stand with rare rotation. Rarely the employee is required to squat repetitively or reach up to 74. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Working Environment: Works in office environment and rarely site environment. This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
