    The Ground Service Equipment Manager classification includes the following: coordinates and controls the airport Ground Equipment function guaranteeing compliance with Company standards, contractual agreements.   Proactively monitors the work of assigned employees to ensure that customer satisfaction, safety, security, quality and employee relations meet or exceed standards.  Maintain and control all required aspects of the operation in accordance with the corporate security program and TSA legislation.  Ensure that the required company audit requirements are always undertaken to ensure continuity and compliance.  Ensures they administer practices in a fair and equitable manner, where all employees, customers, vendors and other third parties are treated with respect. 

    The work of the GSE Mechanic classification includes the following:  troubleshooting, disassembly, checking and cleaning, repairing, replacing, testing, adjusting, assembling, installing, servicing, fabricating, or towing any ground equipment while in service or while undergoing overhaul and/or modification.  Certifies for quality of workmanship, including signing mechanical releases on field work.  May be assigned to order, receive, inventory, secure or disburse parts and supplies on or off airport facilities. Works according to Company regulations and procedures and instructions from lead, supervisor or general manager.  Completes forms connected with work assignments according to established procedures and will communicate with other Company personnel as required in a manner designated by the Company.  Comply with WFS site security procedures for assigned warehouse and other operations.  Remain cognizant of WFS staff, security contractors, and visitors’ activities and report security breaches, suspicious occurrences, or non-compliance with the site security plan to managers or via the WFS whistleblower program. 

    Required Skills

    Must be able to perform the following functions in variable weather and environmental conditions: Push, pull, lift, and parts and components weighing up to 60 pounds in the process of assembling, disassembling, repairing, or installation of these parts and components from a sitting, standing, bending, squatting, or overhead position. Work with color-coded wiring and other components which requires the ability to differentiate colors to include but not limited to red, green, yellow, blue, black, brown, white, and orange. Operate a variety of tools, including power tools, in the process of assembling, disassembling, repairing, and installing parts and components while reaching, twisting, turning, and gripping.

     

    Work in a high noise-level environment.

     

    Read and interpret printed or computerized maintenance manuals, write legibly to complete forms/paperwork as required. Must be able to regulate own work with little supervision and accomplish tasks on own.

    REPORTS TO WORK ON A REGULAR AND TIMELY BASIS

    Required Experience

     Must be at least 18 years of age. High-school diploma or GED preferred;

    Valid driver’s license, ability to work rotating shifts including weekends (ie. Friday, Saturday, Sunday), holidays.  Ability to read and work from diagrams as required.  Diesel experience preferred.  Must possess own Toolbox and tools. Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language. Must be able to pass a 10 year

    Background check to obtain an Airport Badge.
