    ENGINEERING OR SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATION PRIOR EXPERIENCE AND THEN TRANSITIONED INTO A CLOUD BASED ROLE. AT LEAST ONE YEAR OF AZURE.

    The Cloud Engineers are responsible for all aspects of Azure Cloud engineering operations. The Cloud Engineering team works in close conjunction with the Security, Networking, ERM, Business Leadership teams, to ensure implementation of Microsoft Cloud Adoption framework standards. The framework includes IAM, naming standards, subscription, resource management, Azure Policy and more. The Cloud Engineering team works very closely with the Infrastructure-as-Code, and DevOps teams to securely and efficiently deploy infrastructure and applications to Azure utilizing Terraform Cloud and Azure DevOps.

     

    Responsibilities include RBAC assignments, deploying Azure resources, Azure cost analysis. The Cloud Engineers engineers participate in planning, implementation, and growth of the platform in conjunction with the Architecture, Application Development and Security teams. The ideal candidate will become a subject matter expert in many cloud resources such as App Gateways, App Service Environments, App Service Plans, Storage Accounts, Key Vaults, Function apps, Azure DNS, Azure Firewall, VNets and Private Endpoints and more. Candidates will also need to have a strong working knowledge networking, SQL Databases, SQL Managed Instances, Cosmos Databases.

     

    WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

    TECHNICAL EXPERTISE:

    • Gain an in-depth understanding of application functionality and the technical operational processes needed to support and manage the cloud platform. Acquire knowledge on the interaction of all the systems & sub-systems, data flows, system logging, and system efficiency improvements. Review infrastructure as code (IaC) prior to running the implementation plans.
    • Communicating with technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels
    • Establishing and maintaining strong working relationships with a wide variety of business groups. (Developers, Product Owners, Network Engineering, Security, etc.)

    REPORTING:

    • Report system health and trends to management to help improve the stability, security, supportability, & performance of the cloud platform. Design and implement improved processes for system reporting.

    THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

    EDUCATION:

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.

    MUST HAVES:

    • Must be local to Irvine, CA, or willing to relocate. We are not open to remote positions.
    • A minimum of five years’ technical experience working with cloud computing systems, preferably Azure.
    • Solid understanding of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and DevOps, CI/CD pipelines.
    • Solid knowledge of server OS’es both Windows & Linux, storage, compute, networking
    • Scripting – Terraform, Azure CLI, Bash, PowerShell.
    • Experience working for a 24x7 operation.
    • Willing to participate an on a weekly call schedule rotation.
    • Experience with the IT Change Management Process.
