Lead Game Engineer (we value a strong work/life balance)

Just last week I spent considerable time with the VP of Engineering and CEO who work at a high profile, award-winning, online game company. These are top people in their field and they want me to introduce to them a talented and enthusiastic technical lead. We are a high profile and an industry leader in the FTP MMO space. Whether you’re playing one of our titles, chatting with friends, or just shopping online, we ensure that our players are immersed in engaging, exciting, and secure experiences. Our team members come from Blizzard, EA, Crystal, etc.

As the Lead Software Engineer on the Peninsula team, you will join a great group of veteran developers to be part of the growth and continued evolution of our engine platform; powering gameplay, and other disciplines.

Our ideal candidate is a seasoned technical leader who know hows how to build and lead a team of engineers and mentor them on their career paths. And, you should also enjoy working closely with engineers from outside teams to collaborate on solutions that benefit the entire platform.

Covid-19 Hiring Update: We’ve transitioned to a work-from-home model and we’re continuing to interview and hire during this time. This role is expected to begin as a remote position initially then moving to our offices in the Peninsula sometime during the first part of next year.

    Requirements:

Solid C coding skills (20-30% of your role will be coding) with the ability to mentor senior and mid engineers.

4+ years’ engineering experience building games. (We are looking for a full range of experience from 4 to 20 years.)

2+ years managing people and leading a team.

Experience developing clear and concise technical strategies for solving complex challenges.

Ability to weigh the pros and cons of different architecture decisions and create a clear path forward.

Passion for gaming and MMO games in general.
