    MARINE TRAVEL LIFT OPERATOR

     

    A full-service shipyard dedicated to the refit and repair of the world’s finest yachts and vessels is seeking a Marine Travel Lift Operator. Work is of the highest international standards and meets Classification Societies requirements, including ABS, Lloyds, and US Coast Guard Regulations.

     

    The MARINE TRAVEL LIFT OPERATOR daily routine includes but is not limited to safely operating multiple types of heavy equipment to move vessels and materials to designated work, storage, and sales areas.

     

    The best fit for TRAVEL LIFT OPERATOR is somebody who has 3+ years of experience with marine travel lift, forklift and other heavy-duty equipment in a boat yard environment.

    TRAVEL LIFT OPERATOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Experience operating 75ton+ travel lift
    • Experience hauling, launching, and blocking of yachts up to 85 feet long
    • Ability to learn operation of a new 100-ton travel lift
    • Company will provide training on new machine
    • Managing yard staff up to ten (10) laborers
    • Manage all under waterline work from start to finish
    • Anti-fouling paint, zincs, trim tabs, shafts, rudders experience a plus
    • Responsibilities include but not limited to: Managing a team of labor, managing a work order and reporting back to management daily, organizing all yard equipment, maintenance of all equipment, two forklifts, truck, travel lift. Developing preventative maintenance programs for all company owned equipment, cleanliness of yard,
    • Compensation dependent upon experience. Full time, permanent position with unlimited growth potential
    • Properly secure vessels on trailers as needed;
    • Proper and safe use of slings/shackles ensuring safe movements
    • Places keel blocks, boat stands and support blocks under vessels in accordance with size of vessel;
    • Position hull support blocks and frames against boat bottom for vertical support;
    • Monitor machinery/equipment to confirm equipment work correctly and efficiently;
    • Check equipment daily for proper fluid levels and general operation including hydraulic lines and fittings, forks and straps condition and report and maintenance/repair issues to management;

    TRAVEL LIFT OPERATOR REQUIREMENTS:

    • 3+ years’ experience operating travel lift
    • Possess a high regard for safety in the workplace
    • Able to lift 50 pounds unassisted
