  • Responsibilities

    We are currently searching for a Desktop Support Technician to join our IT team, working 40 hours a week, out of our Peachtree Corners, GA office. The Desktop Support Technician's primary responsibility is to provide end-user support and maintenance within the organization's desktop computing environment. Support involves being hands-on with local employees and working remotely with users located throughout our multiple locations to support desktop computers, printers, audio/video and mobile messaging devices. This role is comprised of day to day tickets for user issues as well as finding ways to improve our global computing environment.

    Additional responsibilities:

    • Provide first and second-level Windows and application support via desk-side, telephone and remote support channels. Provide hardware support on laptops, desktops, printers, wireless access points, video conference, mobile phones and peripherals for employees and contractors. This role will also be exposed to Mac based OS and hardware and be expected to gradually support this platform as well.
    • Work with vendor's support contacts to resolve technical problems with desktop computing equipment and software.
    • Ensure desktop computers interconnect seamlessly with diverse systems, including associated validation systems, file servers, email servers, application servers and administrative systems.
    • Coordinate user and support issues among corporate and remote sites to ensure timely distribution of knowledge and positive impact on user satisfaction and productivity.
    • Research, resolve, and respond to complex questions received via tickets, telephone calls, callbacks, or escalations, and provide support on electronic services, in accordance with current standards.
    • Participate in our 24x7 OnCall rotation. Estimated frequency is one week per every 7 weeks.
    • Acquire and maintain knowledge of relevant product offerings, current support policies, and methods of support delivery, in order to provide technically accurate solutions to users.
    • Handle computer moves as required.

    The successful candidate will possess:

    • 1-2 years desktop support experience preferred. This is a mixed environment and you will be called upon to support both Windows PC's and Macs, although this role will mainly support Windows PC's.
    • Strong customer service skills and a can-do attitude is essential.
    • Motivated to learn new technical skills with combination of organized and self-paced learning paths
    • The ability to work as a stand-alone unit supporting your site as well as working with the rest of the team to coordinate cross-team efforts
    • Strong trouble shooting skills and the ability to research an issue that you do not know the resolution to off-hand
    • Good communication skills; both in written form and spoken
