PROGRAM BASICS
The National Park Service (NPS) preserves unimpaired the natural and cultural resources and values of the national park system for the enjoyment, education, and inspiration of this and future generations. The NPS cooperates with partners to extend the benefits of natural and cultural resource conservation and outdoor recreation throughout this country and the world.
SPECIFICS ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP:
This is a youth support position in the Partnerships and Community Assistance Division of the National Capital Region of the National Park Service. The region annually has over 500 youth between National Park Service, partner, and concessions hires and volunteers. The individual will assist in developing two to three networking and development opportunities for youth across the region. This individual will work with the natural resources, facilities and visitor experience divisions to support projects for youth corps and large volunteer groups in parks.
This fellow will be provided with a developmental opportunity for seeking a pathway to federal employment.
