  • Responsibilities

    We are looking for a strategic and dynamic Director of Estimating to lead our team working in production and service estimations. We are seeking a leader in the Tampa area with knowledge of preconstruction and/or commercial roofing.

    Position Overview

    • Provide leadership to Chief Estimator and Senior Estimators who provide day to day direction for Estimators

    • Closely monitor the estimating process to ensure timelines are met and backlog is limited

    • Reviews the estimating process to find and ensure a streamlined and consistent approach.

    • Collaborate with Technical Directors to review and understand scopes for each estimate

    • Evaluate priority of requested estimates with Sales Manager to meet customer demands

    • Work closely with VP of Operations and VP of Sales to establish margin for each project using established pricing matrix

    • Coordinate with Production and Service Departments to ensure appropriate handoffs are completed for awarded job

    • Coordinate Sales Roof Tech schedules to perform roof surveys in an efficient manner

    • Develop, communicate and evaluate KPIs for all Estimating employees

    • Provide technical training to team

    • Ensure staffing levels for department meet the Company’s needs

    • Oversee annual review process within department

    • Recommend process improvements as needed

    • May review completed estimates for mistakes, misses, or errors to prevent discrepancies.

    • Additional related duties as required

    Skills and Qualifications

    · Bachelor’s degree preferred in Construction Management or equivalent years of experience

    · 10+ years of commercial roofing production experience

    · 5+ years in a leadership role managing a team

    · Proficient presentation skills

    · In-depth knowledge of commercial roofing industry

    · Working knowledge and experience in the Edge estimating software preferred (Edge V12)

    · Strong verbal and written communications skills

    · Demonstrated leadership skills and a high-level of business acumen

    · Basic understanding of Florida building codes

    · Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Power-Point)

    Work is performed in a hybrid, general office environment.

    Less than 5% travel required.

  • Qualifications

    1. Ability to interact and communicate with people over the telephone and/or in person, often in stressful situations.

    1. Knowledge of medical terminology.
    2. Knowledge of patient medical records and clinical documents.
    3. Skill in the use of Hospital computer systems related to ADT order entry, requisitions, lab inquiries and other computerized processes and related software/hardware applications.
    4. Knowledge of clinical procedures and operations
    5. Knowledge of supplies, equipment ordering and inventory control.
    6. Clerical, word processing and office skills.
    7. Ability to read and comprehend English at a level necessary to follow written and oral instruction and safety precautions.
    8. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
