The Air Force Sustainment Center Software Directorate (AFSC/SW), is looking to hire Journeyman level Electronics Engineers at any of three primary locations: Hill Air Force Base, Utah, Robins Air Force Base, Georgia, or Tinker Air Force Base Oklahoma. These positions will serve as a professional Electronics Engineer with project management, execution, and operational responsibility in assigned area(s) within AFSC/SW Directorate. Considered the technical expert for the organization in electronics engineering assignments concerning assigned project/programs; employee provides technical leadership and management to ensure project/program success.
Work includes, but is not limited to:
- Software Engineering and architecture, hardware design, modeling and simulation, embedded systems, a broad span of programming languages, software development and engineering tools in support of various weapon systems platforms
- Supporting various programs, including Cloud-based Software Development Environments, Joint Simulation Environment, Depot Engine Testing, Independent Verification Organization, Advanced Battle Management System, and Undergraduate Remote Pilot Aircraft Training, requiring expertise in software development, systems engineering, cloud technologies, and program management
- Designing, implementing, and testing hardware and software to meet growing demands from programs like F-35, B-2, Minuteman, and Sentinel, driven by new testers and enhanced certification requirements
- System Engineering expertise in support of F-15E/EX aircraft on Common Aircraft Portable Reprogramming Equipment, ensuring customer requirements, cost, and schedule commitments are met.

Required Qualifications
- United States Citizenship
- Obtain & maintain up to Top Security clearance

- A professional engineering degree at the bachelor’s level from an ABET accredited institution in Electronics Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline
- Positions may be designated as an acquisition position covered by the Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP)
- Must meet or be capable of meeting Defense Acquisition Work Improvement Act (DAWIA) requirements applicable to the duties of the position
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of professional electronics engineering concepts, principles, practices, standards, methods, techniques, materials, and equipment to effectively apply advanced engineering theories, principles, and concepts to project development, execution, and advisory services.
- Knowledge of development testing and evaluation sufficient to apply experimental theories and new applications to issues and provide technical advice and direction in support of weapon systems, subsystems, and/or support equipment.
- Knowledge of integrated air-vehicles, ground systems, and support equipment sufficient to plan, design, test, troubleshoot, evaluate, and oversee the development and/or sustainment of electronic systems or devices.
- Knowledge of the principles of planning and program management; standard acquisition regulations, practices, and procedures; and other engineering disciplines.
- Ability to devise and evaluate criteria, parameters, characteristics, and interrelationships for design approaches, and to assess the impact of new technology on current systems and processes.
- Ability to work in a professional manner with peers, management, contractors, academia, and other agencies.
Additional Information
- Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade DR/DO-02/GS-13 for NH-04, DR/DO-01/GS-11 for NH-03, or DR/DO-01/GS-11 for NH-02 (or equivalent in other pay systems).
