The Electro-Optical/Infrared Technologies Branch (RYDH), Sensors Directorate seeks to hire a mid-level Research Electronics Engineer, DR-II in Dayton Ohio
This position is open to candidates currently at the DR-01 (or equivalent grade) level eligible for promotion and/or DR-02 (or equivalent grade) level candidates for reassignment. This job announcement will be accepting candidate submissions from 01 October 2025-22 October 2025. The salary range for this position, including Dayton, OH locality is $90,742 — $142,488.

Required Qualifications
- United States Citizenship
- Applicants must have least one (1) year of specialized experience at the DR-01, or equivalent in other pay systems.
- Position will be filled using 0855 ELECTRONICS ENGINEERING occupational series.
- Applicants must be able to meet the OPM Qualification Standards of the position being filled.

- Must be able to obtain/maintain a Secret security clearance, as condition of employment.
- Position is eligible for situational telework and may require routine mission travel. Employee must live within the commuting area of Wright-Patterson AFB.
- Technical expertise in EO/IR materials, devices, and subsystems.
- Excellent verbal, oral, and written communication skills for technical and senior leader audiences.
- Ability to perform TDY travel approximately 10% time.
- PCS expenses are not authorized.
Desired Qualifications
- Doctoral Degree is highly desired.
- Experience leading research and development of EO/IR semiconductor devices that includes multi-physics modeling and simulation, material synthesis, material characterization, device fabrication, and device testing.
- Significant cleanroom fabrication experience including photolithography, chemical processing, plasma processing, and metal deposition.
- Significant experience in electrical and optical material characterization, as well as device characterization of infrared performance parameters across a wide range of operational conditions.
- Ability to develop innovative solutions that exploit emerging technology and communicate with technical stakeholders.
- Cultivates and sustains a professional environment of cooperation, cohesion and teamwork.
- Ability to work and lead others in complex, non-standard, and fast paced environments.
