    What You'll Do

    • Review drawings, specs, and pre-bid meetings to figure out the scope and details of each estimate
    • Put together clear trade scopes of work and backup documentation for review
    • Reach out to subcontractors and suppliers, review their bids, and make sure everything lines up and stays competitive
    • Develop options and recommend the best value based on cost, quality, engineering, and materials
    • Build and keep strong relationships with owners, consultants, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers
    • Support the operations team on awarded jobs— from pricing change orders to resolving contract issues
    • Work with our proposal coordinator to pull together complete proposals (schedules, write-ups, org charts, etc.)
    • Develop conceptual proposals to support business development
    • Negotiate and issue subcontracts

    What You'll Bring

    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience with pre-construction and estimating software
    • Strong understanding of estimating methods, cost control, and conceptual estimating
    • Ability to put together accurate proposals with minimum supervision
    • Clear communication skills — both written and verbal — to explain inclusions, exclusions, and clarifications with owners and subcontractors
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining focus on key priorities

    Experience

    • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management preferred
    • 7+ years of estimating experience
