Quality Control Chemist Location: Baton Rouge, LA, US Company: ExxonMobil Job Role Summary A Quality Control Chemist is central to a team effort to ensure the quality of products. Job Role Responsibilities Procedures and Test Methods: * Development and implementation of new and existing test methods * Modify and validate analytical procedures to meet business needs. * Responsible for procedure reviews, modification, updates and GMOC (Global Management of Change). * Support DIAF (Data Integrity Assurance Framework) and QP&G (Quality Practices and Guidelines) in the laboratory Health and Safety: * Ensure work environment is clean and safe complying with safety regulation. * Participate and mentor safety culture in the lab * Perform annual radiation training sessions for the lab Training for laboratory staff * Train laboratory staff on Statistical Quality Control (SQC) protocols and principles * Assist in SQC testing, records and summaries * Support design and development of experimental protocols, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), consistent with GLP. Instrumentation: * Identification, purchase, installation and validation of new instrumentation * Adapt, maintain and operate analytical instrumentation. * Develop calibration strategies and approve equipment calibrations. Maintain calibration and maintenance logs for all instruments * Review and address out of control instruments. * Coordinate vendor repairs and parts * Support routine maintenance. Business Support: * Participate in special projects and department meetings via input, feedback and execution of assigned tasks. * Execute special projects on analytical and instrument problem solving. Job Role Requirements * Must have a minimum of a Masters degree in chemistry, preferably Analytical Chemistry. * Must have strong analytical techniques and knowledge as well as broad instrumentation skills. * Must be able to work independently to solve problems and work well within a team to investigate and implement solutions. * Must have meticulous attention to detail, dependability, and excellent organizational skills.
