Radiance Technologies is seeking a System Engineer to support an Army Acquisition Category (ACAT) III product office overseeing an Engineering and Manufacturing Development (EMD) contract. Radiance is looking for a self-starter with excellent technical skills and hands on experience in system design and testing. Must be familiar with satellite communications.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Establishes, executes and coordinates systems engineering tasks for supporting the Program Office
- Evaluates the data to ensure that there will be sufficient and current information on hand at all times to provide a ready, accurate, and complete response to any inquiry regarding engineering related issues
- Prepares program documentation in support of the systems engineering efforts
- Monitors programs and acquisition documentation related to systems engineering for executability and compliance with established program decisions
- Assists and cooperates with materiel developers and users in development of operational needs/requirements
- Applies sound system engineering principles and procedures to develop user needs and requirements into system functions and performance parameters and in the identification of systems configuration
- Plans and develops systems engineering strategies, integration frameworks, systems engineering plans, and system architectures
- Supports Test and Evaluation team activities serving as SME regarding system elements and operability
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Acquisition experience supporting an PM or PEO in a technical capacity
- Experience with software and satellite communication hardware in a desktop, embedded environment or stand-alone environment
- Experience working with Software Engineers regarding software components of the system
- Experience applying Model-based systems engineering (MBSE) methodology
- Continually assess the performance of material developer’s software engineer teams, using an agile approach
- An understanding of virtual environments, Linux, and Docker environments
- Familiarity with container DevSecOps using tools such as Jenkins, Nexus and Terraform
- Understanding of effective User Experience (UX) design
- Experience with hardware interface software (i.e. USB, Serial I/O, network control, etc.)
- Background in developing and characterizing RF hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL) test setups
- Familiarity with digital signal processing (DSP)
Required Skills
- Active TS/SCI Clearance
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Math, Physics, or relevant technical degree
- Ability to prepare software system architectures and models to specify in detail the operations to be performed by computer software and hardware
- Familiarity with satellite communications
Required Experience
- 5 years’ experience performing system engineering of complex software/hardware systems
- Experience with multiple operating systems such as Windows or Linux
- Experience with the control of hardware and interface development with embedded systems
- Experience with bug/issue tracking software such as JIRA
- Experience with MS Office supporting presentation, briefing, chart, and other office documentation for an acquisition program
