The Registered Nurse provides nursing care to patients in compliance with, but not limited to Standards of Practice a defined by ANA, AORN, ASPAN and State Practice Act Standards and, organizational protocols, policies, procedures and guidelines. Coordinates the delivery of nursing care for the patient in the surgical suite/endoscopy arena.  Demonstrates competence in the planning of care for the patient throughout the perioperative process. The Perioperative RN participates in patient and family teaching and provides leadership by working cooperatively with other disciplines in maintaining standards of professional nursing practice in the operating room setting through the use of evidence based medical practices.

Required Skills

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

• Registered Nurse with active license in Texas.

• Current BLS and ACLS certification required.  PALS certification preferred.

• Minimum one to two (1-2) years RN experience in a multi-specialty Operating Room.
