JMT is accepting applications for a Part Time or Full Time Commercial Diver/Tender to perform underwater inspections of marine structures. The work may include some underwater construction, video and digital photography, measurements of defects on concrete, steel, and timber, and report writing. The successful candidate must be capable of performing the following: Undertake dives and other duties as directed by the Supervisor Ensure that personal diving equipment is working correctly and is suitable for the planned dive Ensure full understanding of the dive plan and is competent to carry out the planned task Know the routine and emergency procedures Report any medical problem or symptoms experienced during or after the dive Ability to identify and report any equipment faults, other potential hazards, near misses or accidents Keep logbook up to date and have it signed by the Supervisor after each dive Work will be conducted in an office setting and in the field Required Skills Must possess Dive Diploma from an ADCI accredited diving educational institution Must possess a current diving physical or be able to pass a diving physical Current ADCI Card Oxygen Provider/DANO2 First/Aid CPR Must possess or be able to obtain a TWIC Card HAZWOPER OSHA 10 hour or 30 hour construction course certificate Proficient computer skills with software such as MS word Possess Report writing skills Bachelors or Associates Degree in Engineering a plus NHI Underwater Bridge Inspection course a plus Confined space certification a plus Required Experience 2 years minimum prior diving experience Experience in underwater construction inspection and/or underwater bridge/marine inspection Experienced diving supervision, equipment maintenance and repair Experience in report writing, construction plan reading, and construction materials Working Conditions: Work is performed in the field. Ability to extensively perform bending, kneeling, standing, shoveling, and lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 25 lbs as needed. Work may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
