JMT is seeking a design intern who will work closely with an experienced Design or Project Engineer to carry out an array of assigned tasks. Duties include, but are not limited to, assembling data and assisting with problem-solving requiring basic theories and engineering fundamentals; utilizing computer programs to solve engineering problems; assisting with layout and design of small, medium, and large-sized engineering projects, providing quantity take-offs and construction estimates, specification development or preparation, and maintaining accurate and current project documentation. Required Skills Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Participation in a team-based management style Required Experience Full time student at the Junior, Senior or graduate level pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering or closely related major Microstation or AutoCAD experience required Working Conditions The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Work requires physical exertion. May require the ability to stand; walk over rough surfaces; crouch, lift moderately heavy items (up to 50 lbs.) in a recurring manner and/or for long periods of time.
