Intern - Construction Location: AZ - Phoenix ID: 19043 Posted Date: 4/30/18 Employment Duration: Intern Part Time Job Category: Construction/Production Job Travel: None Description Part-Time Construction Intern will assist the Sr. Community Construction Manager (SCCM) and the Community Construction Manager (CCM) in the delivery of homes that meet customer and Company standards by preparing punchlists and ensuring the quality of trade partner's work while acting within compliance of all federal and state safety procedures and regulations. This position will shadow/assist the Construction Team in completion of the following duties: - Participate in the pre-closing and closing orientation punch lists to ensure a timely transition of homes to Homeowner Service Department. - Work by the side of the Sr. CCM or CCM to manage trade partner execution of work through ensuring each home is ready for each required inspection. - Assist the Sr. CCM or CCM to ensure that work meets the quality specifications of the Company and it customers. - Assist with staging the job site, including determining the timing of material delivery and storing of materials to avoid delays. - At the direction of the Community Construction Manager or Sr. Community Construction Manager, consult with inspectors to ensure that the project complies with applicable regulations and meets the project delivery dates. - Assist with conducting Pre-Construction, Frame, Pre-Closing and Closing Orientation meetings with customers. - Assist with ensuring that contractors and vendors perform on schedule and within budget. - Assist with maintaining model homes in a presentable condition including overall responsibility for all necessary repairs. - Assist with proactively identifying and mitigating construction issues. Ideal candidate will be someone who is actively pursuing a Bachelors or Masters degree in Construction Management, and has a strong interest in the homebuilding industry.
