    Subsurface Energy Analyst Intern Location: Pittsburgh, PA Job Code: 1047 Description The Subsurface Energy Analyst Intern will work with the Pittsburgh-based Subsurface Analysis Team supporting the efforts of the National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL) of the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) towards the development of technologies related to geologic carbon storage, enhanced oil recovery, oil and gas operations, or produced water production and management. The candidate must apply sound principles and analytical capability to the area of energy-related subsurface analysis. The candidate may work independently or in a team setting, depending on the particular work initiative. Internship Requirements: * U.S. Citizenship * Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Petroleum/Energy Engineering, Environmental Science or Engineering, Geology, Geoscience, Energy/Natural Resources Policy/Management, or related discipline * Candidates currently pursuing Master's and Doctoral studies in related disciplines with also be considered * Anticipated work tenure: May 2018 through August 2018 Preferred Requirements: * Familiarity with operations associated with conventional and unconventional oil and gas exploration and production, including carbon dioxide enhanced oil recovery (CO2 EOR) * Familiarity with carbon dioxide capture, utilization, and geological storage (CCUS) operations, technologies, requirements, and concepts * The ability to gather pertinent data and communicate scientific and technical concepts effectively in reports, technical documents, and presentations Position Responsibilities: * Quickly learn and assess data related to subsurface energy systems * Interact with federal clients as well as team subcontractors * Support the development of our client's open-source geologic and economic models pertaining to onshore and offshore subsurface storage of CO2 and CO2 - enhanced oil recovery. Assist in the development of model user manuals * Support efforts to review publicly-available geologic and oil/water/gas production data and characterize/quantify potential subsurface resources like CO2 storage capacity and oil and gas metrics) * Compile background literature survey data and technical study findings (including summary reports, graphs, and tables) into publishable, quality deliverables, and make recommendations based on the findings About KeyLogic: KeyLogic is a highly successful provider of professional and engineering services.
