Serve as a part of lifeguard rotation
Teach, lead or assist in facilitation of activities in your area
Assist in lesson and specialty area development
Work collaboratively and communicate proactively with supervisors, specialists and other members of the camp community
Ability to handle camper fears of water and encourage risk taking
Ensure safety and supervision of campers, staff and while near or in the water
Develop creative age appropriate activities in your area
Engage, manage and discipline campers in your specialty
Set up and clean up activity periods and surrounding grounds
Maintain equipment and supplies
Serve as an active presence in your cabin and village when not in your specialty area
Partake in management of camper night time routines and supervision
Assist cabin counselors in cabin specific programming
Serve as a leader, positive role model, and upstanding member of the Camp Chi staff team
Be present and participatory in specialty area, cabin and village activities
Embody and demonstrate Camp Chi’s core values of kindness, community and respect
Communicate proactively, regularly and openly with supervisors, staff members and camp leadership
Adhere to and assist enforcement of Camp Chi’s rules, regulations, and policies
Must be proficient and have experience in teaching or assisting in one of the lakefront areas which include but are not limited too: Canoeing, Kayaking, Sailing, and Paddle boarding and boating. Must be at least 18 years of age
High School graduate or equivalent preferred
Demonstrated ability to work within a team
Passion or desire to work with children
Lifeguarding certification preferred

JCC Camp Chi is one of the Midwest's premier resident camps. Each summer, Chi serves boys and girls in 4th-11th grade through two-, four- and eight-week camp sessions.
