POSITION DETAILS
Stewards Individual Placements Program (Stewards) provides individuals with service and career opportunities to strengthen communities and preserve our natural resources. Participants work with federal agencies, tribal governments, and nonprofits building institutional capacity, developing community relationships, and supporting ecosystem health. Stewards in partnership with Pinnacles National Park are seeking an intern who will help implement an ongoing habitat restoration project, especially focused on outreach and communication of the project, and help as needed on other restoration activities. This position will emphasize public outreach and communication materials, restoration data analysis, and research.
The intern will help with entering and reviewing project data, researching similar restoration projects, reviewing or taking photographs or videos showing the research being done on site, and using this information to conduct public outreach through multiple mediums including developing handouts and displays, creating video content, and leading walks and talks. This project can be done partly remotely, though some on site work is desired. Additional restoration related activities could include field data collection, seed collection, or invasive weed management, as needed. Intern will work with the Vegetation Ecologist as well as other biologists and interns, the Chief of Interpretation and park research partners. Intern will build skills in communication and outreach, visual media including photography, data analysis and the scientific process.
