  • Responsibilities

    As the Production Supervisor with LIBERTY PACKAGING SAN DIEGO, you will be responsible for the supervision, direction and leadership in safety, quality, productivity, and engagement to ensure production goals are met.

    This full-time 3RD SHIFT position (Sunday - Thursday, 9:30 pm - 6:00 am)reports directly to the PLANT MANAGER and is located at Liberty Packaging’s manufacturing plant in SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA.

    Required Skills

    IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL:

     

    • Lead and motivate employees to work efficiently and effectively, while ensuring a safe work environment, and production of a quality product.
    • Supervise employees in the daily production of corrugated board, to include training, planning, assigning, and directing work; evaluating employee performance; promoting safety, quality production and teamwork; resolving conflicts.
    • Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product. Suggests changes in working conditions and the use of equipment to increase the efficiency of the plant.
    • Inspects machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization. Reports needs to maintenance for preventive maintenance and/or repair/modification.
    • Actively promote and ensure compliance with safety, quality and other programs and initiatives utilized within the organization.

     

    QUALIFICATIONS:

     

    • High school diploma or GED
    • 3-5 years of experience in a supervisory and/or lead role in a manufacturing environment; or training; equivalent combinations of education and experience.
    • Willing and able to work off shift, including holidays, weekends and overtime as needed
    • 1+ years’ experience utilizing Microsoft Office Suite such as Excel (create/modify spreadsheets), Word (create/modify documents) in a work environment
    • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, work processes, operation, and maintenance instructions, etc.
    • Ability to write routine reports and business correspondence (via e-mail or document)
    • Knowledge SAP systems and related tools.
    • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels in the organization, including dealing with customers, vendors, and co-workers.
    • Proficient in computer software (Outlook, Word, Excel).
    • Ability to work independently and as a team player.
