Responsibilities Mortenson is currently seeking Field Intern (Engineering, Electrical, Estimating, Operations, Safety) with the ability to interact with a variety of staff at all levels in an ever-changing environment, remaining flexible, resourceful, proactive and efficient with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality. Mortenson Interns can specialize in a variety of areas including: Project Management, Superintendent, Safety, Scheduling, Electrical, Estimating, Mechanical / Electrical / Plumbing, and Quality Management. Highlights include: Mortenson's zero injury safety requirements Plan and specification content and organization Completing change orders on a construction project Shop drawings, Submittals, and the RFI processes Purchase orders and subcontract agreements Construction sequencing Preconstruction and pre-installation meetings Subcontractor coordination meetings and correspondence Expedition software Preparation and evaluation of bid packages Monitoring subcontractors and material suppliers Material procurement Architect / Owner interaction Project Assignment: Phoenix Office Qualifications Required: Currently pursuing an undergraduate, four-year degree in Construction Management, Construction or Civil Engineering from Arizona State M ust be willing to be mobile Reliable transportation Current drivers license Must be able to handle exposure to dirt, heat, noise, dust, and in a trailer office environment Preferred: Previous related internship experience Undergraduate senior level in school A minimum overall GPA of 3.0 / 4.0 Current undergraduate freshman, sophomore or junior Detail orientation sufficient to organize and effectively manage multiple tasks Right to work in the U.S. that is not based solely on possession of a student visa or a visa sponsored by a third-party employer Possess basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices Strong teamwork orientation, initiative, communication, and problem-solving skills Proven positive and professional attitude and customer service skills Mortenson is an EOE/Affirmative Action/M/F/Veteran/Disabled employer.
