Master Data & SAP Process Job - Date: Dec 11, 2018 Location: Houston, TX, US, 77056 Master Data and SAP Systems Specialist Marathon Oil is seeking an individual experienced in SAP who possesses a technical acumen and a professional interest in developing their understanding in SAP to a configuration level. This position reports to the Master Data and Reporting Governance Manager within the Accounting organization and will be responsible for creation and maintenance of core Enterprise financial master data. This position requires a highly proactive person who is comfortable crossing functional lines to understand business context and develop a deep understanding of master data interdependencies and impacts to SAP processing and enterprise reporting. The incumbent will need to demonstrate strong collaboration, communication and problem solving skills and a high level of initiative to resolve issues and deliver project goals within aggressive deadlines. Responsibilities - Process new cost center requests for Domestic Operating Assets through the MDG tool. - Process cost center change requests and coordinate updates to interrelated master data across affected applications. - Primary ownership of Marathons core SAP Account tables (General Ledger, Cost Elements and Group Accounts) and perform updates necessary to create, extend, block, unblock and delete Accounts as required and update various tables and sets that utilize these accounts for SAP processing - Primary ownership of Marathons core SAP Company tables. Coordinate activities to create, extend, block, unblock and delete Companies as required. - Maintain intercompany relationships for cost centers and Work Breakdown Structures. - Develop a deep understanding of master data interdependencies and impacts to SAP processing and reporting. - Serve as a primary point of contact for functional accounting to troubleshoot issues with SAP processes failing or transactions not posting. - Assist in development of master data strategies to manage business change (acquisitions, reorganizations, divestures, changes in accounting standards etc.) in compliance with enterprise principles. - Serve as subject matter expert in process efficiency projects. - Assist in various training initiatives including SAP and Business Warehouse.
