POSITIONS AVAILABLE: - Summer 2019 Land Analyst Intern JOB DESCRIPTION: Marathon Land Analyst interns are immediately involved in diverse and challenging projects working side by side with others in multi-disciplinary teams. Interns are placed in a Project Team with an experienced Land Analyst who will mentor them throughout the intern program. These teams are responsible for supporting Exploration and Production initiatives in North America. Challenging positions are available working assets in Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico and North Dakota. RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE: - Analyze and setup leases and contracts in the Tobin Land System. Ensure data standards and procedures for physical file and image processes for all leases and contracts are followed. - Perform internal due diligence on company owned leases, contracts and wells to assist the Land Professional or Corporate Development in the preparation of commercial trades, acquisitions and divestitures. Updating the Tobin Land System with the most current net acres and net revenue interest and depths to facilitate accurate reporting and exhibits. - Prepare lease assignments, exhibits for JOA's and Farm-Outs for the Land Professional as needed. Review monthly rental schedules and make initial rental recommendations for review by the Land Professional. - Conduct Lease and Contract maintenance on the Tobin Land System to reflect Marathons current ownership (net acres and net revenue interest) and status of the Lease and Contract based on ownership changes (i.e. Assignments, Farm-Outs, Exploration Agreements, etc.). - Review weekly spatial report to ensure that all lease and contract spatial is accurate and reflects the correct surface boundary and acres accurately represent Marathons ownership. - Assist the Land Professional in obtaining curative materials as required to satisfy Drilling Title Opinion requirements. Collaborate with the Division Order Analyst to provide necessary documentation for accurate Division Order setup and maintenance of Marathons interest and ownership. QUALIFICATIONS: - Education Level: Sophomore, Junior and Senior level candidates graduating between December 2019 May/June 2021 - Major: Petroleum Land Management, Energy Commerce, Energy Management, General Business/Business Administration, Entrepreneurship, Management Information Systems, Economics, Accounting, Pre-Legal Studies and other majors will be considered. - Students must maintain at least a 3.0 overall GPA - Have authorization to work for any employer in the U.S. on a full-time, indefinite basis without need for sponsorship now or in the future.
