    The Air Force Research Laboratory, Information Directorate Logistics Readiness Branch (AFRL/RIOL), is seeking to fill a WS-6907-06, Material Handler Supervisor position located in Rome, NY. The primary purpose of this position is to plan, organize, and perform supervisory personnel management responsibilities of the LRS Distribution Section (RIOLD).

    Roles and responsibilities of this position include:

    • Ensure all functions comply with the legal and regulatory requirements of equipment acquisition, accountability, and disposal while meeting customer needs.
    • Manage distribution, disposal, and turn-ins of surplus or excess inventory to include the identification of proper condition codes.
    • Establish, develop, and maintain effective communication and coordination processes for the RIOLD section.
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for the coordination of material movement and resolution of logistics distribution problems.
    • Utilize LRTK and ILS-S to process and manage the receiving and distribution of assets.
    • Manage the development of informal training programs to instruct personnel in all facets of receiving and distribution within RIOLD.
    • Understand and utilize LRTK Form 2005 for turn-in, AF Form 1297 hand receipts, and DD Forms 1348/1149 shipping request/receipts.
    • Manage the resolution of inventory management discrepancies through reconstruction of supply transactions and/or extensive search of supply records, receiving documentation, etc.
    • Work with commercial delivery organizations to ensure timely delivery of purchases.
    • Review and adjust survey reports when property is lost, damaged, or destroyed.
    • Plan and assign projects and workload.
    • Perform internal inspections and report issues and problems with corrective action.
    • Perform other related duties as assigned.

    Required Qualifications

    • U.S. Citizenship Required.
    • Males must be registered for Selective Service, see www.sss.gov.
    • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.

    2. Knowledge of safety regulations, practices, and procedures.

    3. Knowledge of the use and maintenance of hand and power tools, equipment, and precision measuring and/or test equipment common to trades supervised.

    4. The ability to read and interpret blueprint, diagrams, sketches, and technical specifications.

    5. The ability to plan and organize work assignments include determining resources required to accomplish the mission.

    6. The ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

    7. The ability to drive safely and operate a motor vehicle to manipulate controls for starting, stopping, backing and driving vehicles in all types of traffic and road conditions and judging overhead, site clearance, turning radius and braking distance.

    • Knowledge of equipment research and classification of condition codes
    • Knowledge of AFRL/RI LRTK system
