    Job Description

    Manage a region of Mercy Housing's communications strategy including the development, integration, and implementation of a broad range of activities to support the strategic direction and positioning of the non-profit organization, Mercy Housing, Inc. (MHI). Promote the mission and vision of Mercy Housing while supporting the communication needs of the region. Help increase the region's visibility with media and constituents to drive broader awareness and donor support for the organization. Work collaboratively with the region's philanthropy team to support fundraising activities. Collaborate with the MHI national marketing & communications team to provide consistent communications to diverse audiences, including but not limited to development and service provider partners, donors, and prospects (individuals, foundations, and corporations), volunteers (including the region's Board of Directors and advisory groups), employees and residents.

    *Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or related field.

    *Minimum three (3) years of progressive responsibilities as a key contributor with knowledge and experience in the design and execution of a communications program, and ideally, marketing, and public relations activities.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    *Under the supervision of the regional vice president of philanthropy, work collaboratively with the region's president, leadership team and steering committee to develop a communications strategy designed to broaden awareness and increase the visibility of the region's programs and priorities.

    *Work in partnership with the national marketing and communications team to produce a variety of written materials, including but not limited to print and electronic newsletters, website content, video copy, brochures, annual reports, press releases, internal emails and more. Build and maintain targeted donor messaging packages (i.e., photos and videos) of communities that the region serves.

    *Oversee the production of the region's communications materials including donor appeals, publications, press releases, signage, electronic communications, etc. to ensure consistency with the brand strategy in partnership with the national marketing and communications team.

    *Serve as the primary brand manager for the region to ensure proper representation and increased awareness of the Mercy Housing brand. Manage quality control and message discipline in Mercy Housing materials, such as press releases, internet, public speaking, media, blogs, and collateral.

    *Assist the regional vice president, philanthropy with crisis communication, specialized materials, and public/media relations to ensure a quick turnaround and consistent messaging. Assist Mercy Housing's spokespersons in response to media requests and prepare them for interviews/appearances.

    *Work closely with the region's philanthropy team to ensure integrated marketing and communication strategies that support annual giving and major gifts efforts to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward annual and major donors and donor prospects through various online channels and communication vehicles including the company newsletter, e-newsletter, and other e-blasts.

    *Work with national marketing and communications team on the region's website content and functionality to ensure the accuracy of data represented on the website, and integrity of data collected.

    *In collaboration with the region's leadership team, develop and nurture relationships with the media to meet goals around quality media placements and impressions for key Mercy Housing programs, messages, and spokespeople. Work with the region's President on projects related to public policy, advocacy, and government relations.

    *Source and manage marketing communications vendors, as needed; negotiate fair pricing and hold vendors accountable for agreed upon services.

    *Comply with all company policies and procedures.
