  • Responsibilities

    The Receptionist sits at the front desk at the entrance to BMCHP’s offices and is the first point of contact for the company. The Receptionist greets visitors in a professional, friendly and hospitable manner.  He/she announces visitors to executive administrative staff or other personnel as appropriate.  The receptionist will be responsible for answering incoming calls and directing them to appropriate associates, mail handling, flow of correspondence as well as additional clerical duties as assigned. The Receptionist reflects the organizational culture of BMCHP. Therefore the person holding the position of Receptionist must conduct him/herself in a professional manner at all times and demonstrate knowledge of the company procedures and protocol. 

     

    KEY FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES: 

    • Greets, directs, and assists visitors to BMCHP, determines nature of business, and monitors visitor access, including issuance of visitor passes.
    • Answers incoming telephone calls, determines purpose of callers, and forwards calls to appropriate personnel or department using acquired knowledge of company structure and protocol. Appropriate triages.
    • Ensures reception area is kept neat and organized.
    • Provides occasional administrative support and assistance to various business units as needed.
    • Maintains calendar of events and assists with the scheduling of conference rooms.
    • Handles internal and external mail delivered to the reception desk.
    • Medical Emergency.
    • Ensures confidentiality and discretion.
    • Dress professional in business casual attire.

     

     

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    EDUCATION:

    • High school diploma required. 
    • Associates Degree with 1-2 years progressively responsible administrative experience preferred.

    EXPERIENCE: 

    • 1 year prior related administrative support experience is necessary.
    • Front office reception experience in health insurance or related industry preferred.

     COMPETENCIES, SKILLS, AND ATTRIBUTES: 

    • Entry-level computer skills required, including basic knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
    • Effective communication skills, organizational skills, and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
    • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, as well as be flexible, positive, and open to ongoing changes.
    • Bi-lingual in Spanish a plus.
    • Effective collaborative and proven process improvement skills.
    • Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to interact within all levels of the organization.
    • A strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
    • Demonstrated ability to successfully plan, organize and manage projects
    • Detail oriented, excellent proof reading and editing skills.

    WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT: 

    • Ability to work OT during peak periods. _ _
    • Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of the position.
    • Must be able to lift/carry 20 lbs.
