    The Manager, Data Warehouse Team will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Boston Medical HealthNet Plan Data Warehouse Team, as part of the Business Intelligence organization.  The Manager will provide technical contributions and leadership, as well as oversee staff to support the operations and continuing development of a newly implemented enterprise data warehouse based on MS SQL Server and Informatica technologies. The Manager of DWH will report to the BMCHP Director of Business Intelligence as part of the BMCHS IT leadership team, and will participate in overall IT governance and management activities.

    ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:

    • 30 % managerial responsibilities and 70% hands-on involvement primarily in architectural design and code development
    • Manages the development of database applications, integration of systems and development of interfaces to and from outside partners and vendors
    • Manages the data warehouse staff to include hiring, work allocation, scheduling, professional development, problem resolution, performance evaluation and related supervisory activities.
    • Manage onshore and offshore resources to ensure the technical and architectural goals of projects project are met and in line with standards.
    • Exhibits strong communication and senior management facing skills - review issues, collect requirements, iterate on options, present solutions/model results to stakeholders, gain client buy-in
    • Ability to manage multiple work streams simultaneously, can react “on the fly” to changing situations.
    • Assists and guides the team through tasks to analyze, improve, and tune existing scripts, ETL, dashboards, and reports.
    • Coach team members, and assist with direction setting for tasks, including working with the project manager to keep work on track across the team.
    • Leads development efforts regarding large scale data warehouse related projects and initiatives
    • Ensures efficient use of resources to meet organizational service levels.

    EDUCATION:

    Bachelor’s degree in technical, clinical or business discipline or equivalent experience required.  Master’s degree in technical, clinical, or business discipline preferred

     

    EXPERIENCE:

    • 10 + years of experience, with a minimum 5 years leading a data warehouse/business intelligence or application development team
    • 10 + years of development experience in database and ETL technology with progressive responsibilities and influence.
    • 5+ years of experience in designing and developing ETL processes using a tier-1 ETL tool (i.e. Informatica)
    • 5+ years of experience  data warehouse (MS SQL Server) and analytics solutions is a must
    • Significant experience leading large size projects and team management responsibilities
    • Experience in application/data architecture, design principles, practices, and systems development life cycle including  software development methodologies such as Agile
    • Experience in developing reporting & analytical solutions, using one or more tools like Business Objects, Cognos, Micro Strategy, Tableau, PowerBI

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

    • Extensive knowledge of street geography and metropolitan St. Louis, as well as St. Louis County.
    • Knowledge of automated reservation and scheduling systems, map book usage, and use of metro multi-modal transportation systems.
    • Knowledge of personal computers, Windows 2013 environment, and Office 2013 programs.
    • Knowledge of emergency service jurisdictions.
    • Knowledge of radio dispatching and Federal Communication Commission regulations.
    • Ability to recognize service zones and apply Metro fare structure, as well as, policies and procedures.
    • Ability to maintain an effective working relationship with Paratransit Operators and the general public, as well as, various service agencies, caseworkers, and outside providers.  
    • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
    • Ability to work under stressful conditions while answering a high volume of incoming telephone and/or radio calls.
    • Ability to work rotating shifts and off hours.
    • Ability to analyze, and problem-solve for customers and drivers, to maintain safe and efficient operations and on-time performance.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive customer and driver information.
