    Job Description

    Morton Buildings, Inc.'s corporate accounting department, located in Morton, Illinois, is offering a paid student internship during the summer.  The internship program will provide the student with relevant skills in a variety of accounting functions via on-the-job training.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Help with preparation of month-end reports.
    • Help with bank statement reconciliations.
    • Perform daily cash reporting responsibilities.
    • Assist with balance sheet reconciliations.
    • Prepare and enter monthly journal entries.
    • Assist with the preparation of ad hoc and other internal reports.
    • Assist with general accounting month-end closing procedures.
    • Monthly financial statement review and analysis.
    • Work with the accounting group on monthly and yearly forecasting.
    • Provide clerical support for sales tax reporting.
    • Involvement with the fixed asset review and procurement process.
    • Complete special projects as needed and other duties assigned.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Must be actively enrolled in an undergraduate program at an accredited local university or college, with a major in Accounting.
    • Targeted graduation date in the 2019/2020 school year or students completing schooling at the end of 2018/2019 but still needing to satisfy an internship requirement.
    • Current GPA of 3.0 or above.
    • Strong technical and organizational skills in addition to excellent written and verbal communication skills in a professional environment.
    • A high level of integrity, accuracy, dependability, enthusiasm, and confidentiality.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, etc.).
    • Must be highly motivated with the ability to meet daily deadlines.
    • Self-starter with a positive, willing-to-learn attitude.
    • Able to work independently, as well as able to work well in a team setting.
    • Service minded with excellent communication and solid documentation skills.

    Additional Information

    This is a paid hourly position that will start in early June, 2020 and complete mid-August, 2020.
