    Job Description

    Morton Buildings is seeking a candidate who is willing to take on a new and exciting challenge as a Construction Superintendent!

    The Construction Superintendent will be working on-site with Morton Buildings' construction crews, sales consultants, and subcontractors to coordinate the construction of entire projects.  The projects must be scheduled efficiently and built to the highest industry standards to maximize customer satisfaction.   

    PROJECTS WILL BE LOCATED IN MULTIPLE STATES.  The Region locations may allow travel home at night, depending on project schedules and budget allowances, with the other projects requiring temporary stay-out & travel.

    Responsibilities:

    • Establish and ensure adherence to schedules of all work performed at the job site under MBI contract including, but not limited to:  Continual update of schedule as changes on-site occur, daily and weekly reporting of Morton and Subcontractors progress to schedule, arrange and conduct pre-construction conferences and reviews 
    • Coordination and supervision of all aspects of the project at the job site including but not limited to: All subcontractors, Morton crews, local purchases & MBI and outside vendor product deliveries 
    • Responsible for reviews / quality control / specification compliance – building to plans/specs, etc 
    • Communication and coordination with all authorities having jurisdiction 
    • Contract and subcontract administration after project delivery 
    • Ensure procedures and materials comply with contract specifications, building code requirements and conform to top notch levels of workmanship 
    • Coordinate, inspect, and hold subcontractors liable for contracted scope of work 
    • Maintain quality control through project completion 
    • Enforce safety compliance with everyone on the job including responsibilities maintaining OSHA logs, JSA’s, Pre-task, and reporting to owner

     

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Current OSHA 30 hour Certification or ability to obtain within 6 months.
    • TRAVEL 80% OF TIME
    • 2 years degree and/or 3- 5 years  of progressively responsible construction experience
    • Skill in reading and interpreting plans and specifications and comparing them with construction in progress
    • Knowledge of industry standards for materials and methods for construction
    • Ability to exhibit conflict resolution and the capability to think quick on your feet
    • Strong  supervision, communication and organizational skills are essential
    • Ability to manage multiple projects
    • Ability to maintain customer confidentiality
    • Self-motivation, positive high energy work ethic and integrity is a must
    • Be a team player and work well with others
    • Must have minimum intermediate level computer skills with knowledge of Excel and Word, MS project
    • Overnight travel required
    • Regular attendance required
