Planning/Architectural/Landscape Architectural SUMMER INTERN Job Code: 794 Employment Type: Full Time/Hourly Location: Redmond, WA Description Otak is looking to hire summer interns for our Redmond, Washington office, but this position may be shared with other offices, including Portland, Oregon. The internship would support the disciplines of planning, landscape architecture and architecture depending on the skillset of the selected interns. The desired candidate will have completed at least two years of college education in one of these areas of study (planning, landscape architecture, and/or architecture). This position will support a variety of planning, design, research, design detailing, graphics, and other tasks. This will be a temporary position for summer only in 2018. Typical job requirements: * Support a variety of planning and research tasks. * Support the resolution of design solutions during the schematic design, design development and construction documents phases. * Assist project team with product and systems research, and materials selection. * Collaborate with project team to ensure design intent and conformance to quality assurance, quality control and best practice standards. * Prepare client presentations and present design concepts, drawings, models, etc. * Participate in project reviews regarding project costs, budgets and adherence to schedule. * Entitlement and planning/zoning code analysis to determine density and site yield/restrictions. Qualifications: * A minimum of (2) two years of university/college education in the field of study of either urban planning, landscape architecture, and/or architecture. * Top tier academic performers who have obtained or are obtaining a Bachelors or Masters degree * Knowledge of zoning codes, applicable codes, and implications on design * Experience with Revit, AutoCAD, Photoshop, Illustrator, SketchUp, InDesign, and other design and modelling programs
