Summary of Position The Payroll Specialist assists in managing the Companys Hourly Payroll utilizing the UltiPro software program. Essential Duties and Responsibilities * Process new hires and input benefit enrollment data, salary increases, and separations. * Prepare and maintain payroll and employee files. * Verify accuracy of Electronic Time Submission and paycheck calculation using UltiPro. * Process employee wage garnishments including Internal Revenue Service levies, Child Support Orders, and Chapter 13 deductions. * Print and distribute biweekly paychecks for hourly employees. * Complete Verification of Employment Letters for hourly employees upon request. * Assist with onboarding of New Hires with electronic Time Sheet demonstrations utilizing UltiPro. * Manage paid and unpaid leaves of absence for employees including preparation of FMLA paperwork. * Assist with printing and distribution of annual Form W-2 Wage and Tax Statement. * Order and restock supplies as needed for the department. * Perform special projects for the Payroll Department as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities * No supervisory responsibilities. Qualifications * High School Diploma or equivalent required. * Requires 1 to 2 years of relevant payroll processing and knowledge of IRS tax laws. * Ability to build and maintain relationships and communicate with others effectively, both orally and in writing, in a professional and competent manner. * Demonstrated computer skills including a working knowledge of UltiPro and MS Office products, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. * The ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide using whole numbers, fractions and decimals, to compute percentages, and to perform basic algebra and geometry. * Demonstrated organization and time management, which includes the ability to multi-task and run multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining thoroughness and precision. * A team-oriented, proactive and adaptable work ethic.
