Category Operations Description Essential Job Functions: Obtain prospective customer information including names and addresses from Sales Support team and other internal sources. Make recommendations to address concerns and eliminate obstacles for solar viability Conduct an accurate PV feasibility assessment and corresponding analysis based on information obtained from customer about their site Designs a PV system that meets the energy needs of the homeowner and viability for the rebate program Conduct site specific PV array and design change orders Once qualified, communicate feasibility to the sales administration Provide support in managing and tracking feasibility projects and re-assessments Complete electrical and structural designs for photovoltaic projects in Aurora, Vizio, and Adobe Create computer generated assessments Update Site Assessment to match as built (if required) Process Design Change Orders (if required) Create Electrical 3-Line Diagrams and Equipment Plans for specific PV site installs Research, document and comply with local and national code requirements in project jurisdictions Coordinate with Site Assessors, Project Management, and Sales teams to complete designs meeting the customers expectations with strict deadlines Create project bills of material (if required) Assist in documenting and developing industry best practices, standards and guidelines Delegate project completion tasks to other engineering team members Utilize software systems to record progress of various tasks Position Requirements Competencies Excellent written and verbal communication skills required Ability to communicate with Operations in a professional manner Able to work independently and prioritize work load Ability to adapt in a fast paced, changing environment Ability to communicate effectively over the phone and email Team player attitude a MUST! Ability to follow management direction and take constructive feedback Education/Experience Bachelors degree in an engineering related field required OR Bachelors degree in non-engineering field and 1 year of solar industry experience required; OR Associates degree in design related field and 1 year of solar design (or 3 years of solar industry) experience preferred OR NABCEP (PV Installation Professional) certification and 3 years of solar industry experience preferred Demonstrated strong conflict resolution experience Basic knowledge of the National Electric Code preferred Basic knowledge of residential construction techniques is a plus Knowledge of solar power energy field is preferred Construction industry knowledge preferred Aurora, Vizio, or CAD design software experience is a plus Salesforce experience is a plus Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook) and Adobe Pro Installation or site assessment on roof experience is a plus Full-Time/Part-Time Full-Time Shift Days Relocation Assistance Salary Requirements Position Solar Design Specialist Number of Openings 1 Exempt/Non-Exempt Non-Exempt Location New Orleans, LA This position is currently accepting applications.
