    LOCATION:                  TCC Main Campus

    DIVISION/SECTION:   Workforce Development/Department of Corrections 

    HIRING SALARY:         $20.00 to $25.00 per hour._  _

    _                                                            Position is based on the availability of grant funding._

    HOURS:                        Up to 25 hours a week; Monday-Friday 8:00 AM-5:00 PM.

    MAJOR FUNCTION: Identify, locate, and/or develop lessons and experiences to provide career counseling activities around educational and career pathways. 

    MINIMUM TRAINING/EXPERIENCE: A Bachelor’s degree in counseling, education, student affairs personnel or a related area from an accredited college or university and two (2) years of related experience; or an Associate’s degree in a related area from an accredited college or university and three (3) years of related experience.

    SUCCESSFUL APPLICANTS WILL DEMONSTRATE THE FOLLOWING: Provide direct service to students at all five correctional institutions regarding educational and career planning, success strategies, and resources; and interacts positively with students and assists in overcoming anxieties related to schoolwork and testing.  Assist in the planning, designing, and implementation of integrated services to support educational and career pathways for the Florida Vocational Department of Corrections grant; assists the teachers with the development and implementation of activities related to educational planning and early intervention; and collaborates with other community partners and programs to provide resources to students. Maintain accurate records, both physical and electronic format, in compliance with Florida Department of Corrections and Tallahassee Community College requirements.

  • Qualifications
    • ACCESS AND ROLE PRIVILEGES CONTROL.
      • In the lead-up to and in the transition following Go-Live to the new SIS, assist with the development and execution of access and role privileges control plan for SIS applications and cadet/other data based on assigned Dean of Faculty (DF) Faculty/Staff roles
      • Lead and advise in the development of a role-based access schema for the new SIS application and determine how to apply that to faculty and staff, understanding the various databases involved with the Registrar mission and potential changes to their access criteria as the system matures
    • DATA/PROCESS ANALYSIS
      • Assist with a variety of moderately complex to complex tasks involving process and data analysis related to business requirements and registrar functions, relative to how work happens now in USAFA’s Cadet Administrative Management Information System (CAMIS) versus how it will work in the new SIS
      • Provide technical support and direction independently or as part of team with responsibility for performing problem analysis. Products will include recommendations for process changes and assistance with the creation of job manuals and training aids for registrar functions and processes.
      • Develop a system for capturing and documenting registrar processes in the new SIS and creating step-by-step job manuals with suggested changes to accommodate SIS functionality.
    • COLLABORATION
      • Establish and maintain good working relations with customers and teammates
      • Collaborate with USAFA/DFR faculty and staff and DF personnel and interact with the A6 contractor technical personnel and others as required for access/roles for SIS
      • Interact with DF faculty and staff will be required to test the developed process.
