  • Responsibilities

    The UK Accounts Assistant role reports to the UK Controller. The role will support the UK Controller with various regular, ad-hoc accounting and administrative duties within the business.

    Amongst other duties, the main responsibilities of the job are to:

    • Assist the UK Controller with various project and initiatives to improve processes relating to accounts payable and receivable
    • Assess credit risk of customers and determine appropriate credit limits and setup of new customer accounts
    • Proactively follow up of past due customer accounts and instigate legal proceedings as required
    • Responsible for sales ledger ensuring payments received within agreed credit terms
    • Raise and issue manual stage payment invoices and customer statements where applicable. Process and issue credit notes as advised and provide analysis supporting exception reporting
    • Support with applications for bank guarantees and letter of credit where applicable
    • Procurement of office stationery & supplies etc.
    • Processing of third party and Interco supplier invoices including matching of goods received notes / purchase order to invoices
    • Arranging payment of third party and Interco invoices and sending remittance advices
    • Reconciliation of supplier statements and resolution of any queries or discrepancies
    • Control of petty cash
    • Employee expenses & credit cards
    • Reception, receiving and redirecting inbound calls and visitors
    • Management and distribution of incoming and outgoing post
    • Travel arrangements & bookings for employees
    • General administrative support and other ad-hoc duties

    Required Skills

    The ideal candidate will possess the below qualifications and experience:

    • Minimum of 2 - 3 years in accounting
    • Prior experience with JD Edwards (JDE) business systems
    • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
