POSITION DETAILS
Stewards Individual Placement Program (SIPP) provides individuals with service and career opportunities to strengthen communities and preserve our natural resources. Participants work with federal agencies, tribal governments, and nonprofits building institutional capacity, developing community relationships, and supporting ecosystem health. SIPP, in partnership with the National Park Service’s National Capital Area Office of Communications, is seeking a fellow who will research, write and disseminate a broad range of communication products highlighting construction and deferred maintenance projects in national parks across greater Washington, D.C. The fellow will assist national parks with other projects as time allows.
Communication products could include web and social media content, news releases, fact sheets, remarks, talking points, and strategic communications plans. The work of the fellow will help ensure that high-quality information is available to the public so they can learn about, enjoy and help care for national parks.
The National Capital Area Office of Communications supports the national parks in the Washington, D.C., area including iconic memorials, historic homes, and natural areas.
