RECEIVING - SURPLUS TECHNICIAN

JOB SUMMARY
The Centralized Receiving Surplus Support Technician supports the receiving production of all receiving lines and is primarily responsible for the accurate processing and receipt of all surplus items. Support consists of providing assistance to receivers in the form of extra research for unusual items, expertise in evaluating items, making items Ready-to-Sell, determining the receipt or disposal of an item and general assistance in keeping receiving operations flowing properly. Support also entails the research of sales history, updating pricing and descriptions of parts in accordance with existing database design and policies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Take ownership of receiving line to ensure accuracy and completion of each purchase order and/or bid.
Verify part numbers on all units processed
Assess pricing and descriptions of items where pricing cannot be determined due to age of part or obsolescence.
Make items Ready-to-Sell which includes:
Inspection, cleaning and testing all units
Power and diagnostic testing
Perform occasional light repair
Support and improve product quality
Bag surplus parts in preparation for sale.
Determine correct conditions and quantities of merchandise; note changes and discrepancies
Determine receipt and/or disposal of items based on sales history and condition
Correctly and accurately receive items into inventory recording serial numbers, series, firmware, revision levels etc. as necessary.
Photograph clearly and weigh items as necessary.
Assist Receiving staff with research as necessary.
Provide overall assistance with receiving process which includes reviewing each Bid or Purchase Order that is assigned; note and carry out any additional verbal or written instructions from Supervisors or Purchasing staff
Duties may be modified as necessary. Additional duties and tasks may be assigned.
