    TITLE:                            Associate Dean, Faculty Initiatives

    SECTION:                      Academic Affairs        

    HIRING SALARY:          $75,000.00 annually 

    HOURS:                        8 a.m. - 5 p.m., Monday – Friday

    MAJOR FUNCTIONS: The Associate Dean of Faculty Initiatives is housed within the Academic Affairs office and will report directly to the Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs. The Associate Dean of Faculty Initiatives provides leadership in the planning, direction, and evaluation of academic partnerships and faculty initiatives in conjunction with the AVP and Provost. Responsible for the implementation of initiatives developed by the office of the Provost/VPAA. Assists the AVP with coordination and direction for the College’s Dual Enrollment Program. Assists with the administration of all assigned programs and initiatives in accordance with administrative policies and procedures. Facilitates K-14 partnerships that will support innovative programming leading to college readiness and completion. Compiles data and monthly and annual reports for the office of Academic Affairs.  Ensures innovation and successful professional development occurs at all levels.  Serves as liaison to associate deans, and program chairs and other academic stakeholders, and implements continuous improvement as appropriate. Researches, creates, supports and assesses college wide student success/completion initiatives. Provides leadership and coordination in conjunction with the office of the Provost for academic excellence initiatives and works with faculty for various campus initiatives. 

    MINIMUM TRAINING EXPERIENCE: Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher education and five (5) years of successful full-time equivalent teaching and/or administrative work experience in higher education. 

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of assessment of student success and the development and implementation of appropriate retention strategies. Ability to critically analyze student data and develop short- and long-range plans based on the goals of the College. Ability to manage multiple projects/initiatives. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Ability to think critically and creatively, have a high standard of integrity, and be motivated to incorporate best practices into the organizational culture. Ability to exhibit a thorough knowledge of policies, procedures, and outside regulations pertaining to the position. Ability to take initiative and independently plan, organize, coordinate and perform work in various situations where numerous and diverse demands are involved. Ability to anticipate, investigate, and analyze problems and address them proactively. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students and the public. Ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment. Ability to work independently and follow through on assignments.  Ability to exhibit solid organizational skills and be detail oriented. Ability to work with a variety of constituencies and be willing to contribute to a team effort. Ability to exercise discretion and good judgment at all times and in all contexts and maintain confidentiality. Ability to work effectively with all constituencies of the College.  Ability to collect, organize, analyze and present information in a meaningful manner. Collaborate and be effective working with diverse populations.
