    ENGINEERING ASSOCIATES TECHNICIAN

    Systems Engineering Group, Inc. (SEG) seeks a technician to develop missile data products in support of the Missile Defense Agency and US Navy.  The technician would be working in the PHENOMENOLOGY branch, which develops advanced physics-based models and simulations in support of DoD needs and other efforts.  Examples of the branch’s areas of responsibility include MISSILE DEBRIS, MISSILE PLUMES AND REENTRY WAKES, ATMOSPHERIC PROPAGATION EFFECTS FOR RF AND IR SIGNALS, AND THE EFFECTS ON SIGNAL PROPAGATION OF VARIOUS TYPES OF CLUTTER, INCLUDING LAND AND SEA CLUTTER.  The open position would initially be focused on developing debris data products, but may offer opportunities to work on other types of products as well, and could offer more advanced engineering responsibilities for the right candidate.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Work with engineers to understand the required content of products
    • Run debris data generation simulations and tools to create data files
    • Assist in ensuring required content is captured in compiled set of runs designated for delivery
    • Write product documentation
    • Consolidate data files and documents into products
    • Work with Production staff to get products shipped
    • Make minor modifications to simulations and tools in support of data generation

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • Must be a U.S. citizen and meet eligibility requirements for a security clearance.
    • Associate degree (or high-school diploma and 3 years of post-high-school work experience; associate degree in a technical field or bachelor degree preferred)
    • Must have had coursework that demonstrates an aptitude in technical subjects such as computer programming, science, or engineering
    • Experienced and comfortable with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
    • Good at math, with good analytical and logical skills
    • Good written and verbal communication skills
    • Some programming experience in MATLAB, Python, or equivalent is preferred
