    Job Description

    TITLE: ACCOUNTING/FINANCE MANAGER

    REPORTS TO: CONTROLLER, PRESIDENT & CFO

    LOCATION: HAYWARD, CA

    OVERVIEW

    As our Manager, you'll manage our accounting/finance team in general accounting, job costing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash management, and treasury activities...just to name a few! We're growing quickly and we need an individual who can work closely with the internal and external management teams to establish, implement and maintain procedures and internal controls to support varying business initiatives. You'll be a critical participant for driving timely and accurate reporting of the company financials to enable a deep understanding of company operating performance.

    This position reports directly to the President and CFO and currently has 3/4 direct reports. Over time, it is expected that the candidate will assume broader operational and leadership responsibilities across the organization.

     

    QUALIFICATIONS

    •BA/BS Degree in Accounting, Finance or related major

    •3+ years of experience in a similar role

    •CPA Preferred but not required

    •Experience leading the execution and optimization of accounting operations and accounting close processes

    •Strong leadership skills with the ability to work under pressure and cultivate and develop key relationships

    •Strong oral and written communication skills, and ability to influence others and interface with internal management, finance, and cross-functional teams

    •Can confidently and effectively present financial information to President

    •Talented in Excel, proficient in Word, PowerPoint, and QuickBooks Desktop

    •Salesforce experience preferred but not required

     

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    •Maintain the financial records of the Company, including its general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliation, accruals, payroll journal, and general journal in accordance with GAAP

    •Maintain the company's system of accounts and keeps books and records on all company transactions and assets

    •Implement industry-standard best practices across new and existing workflows

    •Create and enhance effective financial controls for the organization

    •Provide internal reports, revise and update reports to be more useful and efficient, and provide external reports as necessary

    •Revamp month-end reconciliations and closing. Assist in monthly and quarterly financial statements, annual financial reports, audit activities, and other information reports and requests; ensures accuracy and integrity of all financial reporting

    •Assist in periodic ad-hoc analyses and audits

    •Analyze expenses and other metrics and present findings to CFO and President

    •Update and implement all necessary business policies and accounting practices periodically to continually improve financial policies and procedures.

    •Supervise Finance/Accounting Team (including monthly reconciliations, AP, AR, etc..).

    •Support ongoing growth strategy with internal and external mgmt. teams.

    •Partake in a cross-functional environment to streamline processes across the company

    •Provide actionable insights which help the company become more operationally efficient.

    •Cultivate relationships with other department heads to drive culture
