We are looking to fill a key role in our Human Resources department. The HR Business Partner will be responsible for providing support, leadership and oversight of Human Resources activities for the Company’s Indianapolis, Knoxville, Nashville, Cincinnati, Chattanooga and South Bend locations consisting of more than 500 employees.
The HR Business Partner is a strategic business partner who helps the region achieve its goals by being an advocate, change leader, and champion for an unparalleled employee experience.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Partner with Talent Acquisition and relevant department leaders to provide a world-class onboarding experience. Ensure a successful handoff from Talent Acquisition upon offer acceptance.
Analyze and interpret employee retention and other key people metrics and work with business leaders to develop appropriate action plans to address identified areas of opportunity.
Identify trends and provide guidance to management at all levels to mitigate employee relations issues and promote a positive work culture. Assist the leadership team in managing programs that improve employee engagement and drive a positive employee experience including employee celebrations and events, recognition, and volunteer initiatives.
Partner with the President and Head of People to conduct thorough investigations and develop solutions to complex employee issues and concerns.
Support the performance management process to ensure continuous improvement and the implementation of best practices. Assist managers with coaching, corrective actions, improvement plans, goal setting, performance assessments and succession planning.
Partner with the President and Head of People to develop and maintain an organization structure that supports business efficiency and growth. Provide appropriate employee career paths and development opportunities.
Manage hiring and termination processes while ensuring all employee personnel records and data are accurate and confidential.
Partner with Head of People and Legal to interpret and communicate policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all Federal, State and Local employment-related laws and regulations.
Assess development needs and coordinate/conduct applicable training and development programs as necessary.
Serve as a resource for all employees by being available and accessible to discuss all people related issues.
Maintain thorough and current knowledge of all Human Resources, employee regulations and Federal, State and Local employment laws.
QUALIFICATIONS:
5+ years of Human Resources experience with an emphasis in employee relations/generalist HR (Experience supporting a large corporate population preferred)
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business or related discipline
Strong interpersonal communication, persuasion and creative problem-solving skills
Established assessment and decision-making skills with proven ability to build relationships and influence at all levels
Proven experience in dealing with complex employee relations issues (EEO, FLSA, ADA, etc.)
Ability to solve conflicts in a positive and fair manner
Excellent time management, organizational and follow-up skills
Ability to set priorities and organize time
Demonstrates initiative and is able to work independently
Enthusiastic, energetic and personable
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with high standards
Willingness to travel to all Company locations
Proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
