    Youth Ministry Intern (Paid) * New York, NY * Internship * Education * Entry Level The Riverside Church in the City of New York is seeking an intern to serve our growing and vibrant youth ministry. This individual will work with our middle school and high school students (7-12th grade) under the supervision of the associate minister of youth and young adults. This position is perfect for an individual looking to go into full-time youth ministry work one day, but interested in getting hands-on experience first. This position is a part-time position averaging 10-12 hours a week. The schedule includes Sundays, a mix of office work hours, program hours, and events. This individual exhibits a robust passion for working with youth and thinking outside the box. Creativity and an innovative approach to ministry is essential. This individual also has experience working with diverse communities and is able to work on multiple projects at once. Essential Job Responsibilities: * Flexible and detail-oriented ready to teach outside the box. * The Intern will primarily focus on assisting the Associate Minister of youth and young adults with running Lets Talk Youth Sunday School on Sunday mornings, Small Group programming, community outreach, retreats and confirmation classes. In addition, the Intern can experience various tasks relating to email blasts, Facebook updates, phone calls, etc. * Building relationships with youth helping them discover their God-given gifts and learn how to use them for Gods purposes in our church and world. * Emphasis on working to create space for intergenerational programming. * Available to work every Sunday for the programs duration ismandatory. Fulfill all other duties as assigned by the positions supervisor. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: * Bachelors degree or commensurate experience required. * Prior youth ministry church experience and a passion to work with youth. * A proven ability to develop effective community-based programs and to cultivate meaningful relationships within communities, including partnerships within the public and private sector. * Theological understanding consistent with the core values of the Riverside Church. * Experience in a congregation or setting with a multi-cultural membership and a diverse staff. * Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. * Demonstrated ability to interact in a collaborative manner with other ministries and staff. * Superb time management skills.
