ABOUT THE ROLE:

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be part of Rocket Software’s dynamic team of domain experts who work at a fast pace and who expect the best from themselves and their team.  As a valued member of the software engineering team, you will be part of the team that creates Rocket’s Business Intelligence and Analytics products, used by some of the world’s largest and most well-known companies.  You will not only be immersed in the technology quickly, but you will also be part of the next generation software experts that lead this technology into the future.

With your team members, you will also remain focused on delivering enhancements by working closely with customers to synthesize requirements into appropriate software design, as well as partnering with the global technical support team to assist customers.  You will be part of establishing and implementing best practices and setting R&D processes, standards and automation, as well as identifying areas for improvement and adding your input to process improvements and the creation of new practices.

Your ability to collaborate effectively with other Rocketeers across geographies and technologies will be vital to retain our solutions as the premier technology in the industry. You will be expected to work in a fast-paced environment where you will bring your technical expertise to successfully manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Designs, develops and debugs enterprise software for the BI and Analytics market.
• Applies advanced systems analysis techniques to evaluate newly created code
• Provides thought leadership and innovation within technical domain
• Can document and communicate complex technical topics outside the immediate development team
• May lead a team on short or long-term projects as needed

Required Skills

REQUIRED CANDIDATE SKILLS:

• 8+ years’ Java software engineering experience, developing commercially successful applications that are, scalable, highly available, and expose robust APIs.
• Strong knowledge of BI concepts and analytical tools
• Prior experience working with BI tools, or Data Integration platforms, which involved working with large volumes of data is a must
• Experience with the Agile development methodology
• Fluency in English language, both written and spoken
• Mastery of Enterprise Java, database, JDBC
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills to deal professionally and collaboratively with all levels of the organization and across geographies

DESIRED CANDIDATE EXPERIENCE:

• Strong knowledge in databases, JDBC and SQL.
• Experience with Machine Learning is a big plus.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

• College degree in Computer Science/Information Technology
• 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 6 years and a Master’s degree; or equivalent experience.
