The Headof IT is responsible for establishing and operating the technology infrastructure to build a more effective and efficient national distribution organization. This includes directing all technology operations to meet business requirements including the overall planning, acquisition, application, organizing, and use of all technology related functions in the company as well as the support and maintenance of existing applications and development of new technical solutions. Lead internal and external teams associated with technology and business process improvements.
Responsibilities
Advise Executive Management on opportunities and risks associated with technology
Act as a trusted advisor by building and maintaining relationships with business unit leaders
Create the mission and vision of the IT organization, lead the development of the IT strategy and roadmap ensuring integration with the Company's strategic planning process
Develop and control annual budget for technology & data processing to ensure it is consistent with overall strategic objectives; track and manage monthly spend on IT initiatives
Direct IT sourcing, provide executive oversight for strategic vendor and partner relationship management, and negotiate contracts with technology vendors and service providers
Responsible for cybersecurity oversight and incidence response plan
Provides leadership, coaching and direction to the IT leadership team and staff
Oversee the company's IT operations and architecture
Strategically develop the company's IT roadmap, planning and continuous improvement as it relates to the existing infrastructure as well as future projects and new locations
Responsible for the selection and effective implementation of new software systems
Manage the technological integration of acquisitions and new geographic locations
Recognize IT trends and developments, including construction industry specific developments, to anticipate changes and/or updates affecting the company and develop a “best in class” standard of technology within in the industry
Audit & analyze Skylines current IT systems & implement best practices, policy/procedure & standard operating procedures (SOP) for the department and organization
Design and hire the IT organization required to maintain a best in class IT function
Qualifications
Bachelor degree in Technology, Business Management or Engineering. MS/MBA (preferred)
Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience
3 years senior management experience
Ability to convert business strategy to technology execution
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent organization and decision-making skills
High ethical standards, including maintaining confidentiality
Experience in developing and managing technology budgets
Experience managing technology vendors
Awareness of industry trends in technology and development management; cloud computing, data management; artificial intelligence
