    Job Overview

    AFRL/RQXS seeks to hire a Program Manager for Solid Rocket Vertical Test Stand (1C) at DR-03 level. This job announcement will be accepting candidate submissions until 30 September.

    OPEN TO CURRENT AFRL CIVILIAN EMPLOYEES ONLY.

    Position duties include but are not limited to:

    • Managing cost, schedule, performance, and technical risks for solid rocket test programs.
    • Manages tasks associated with engineering, program control, configuration management, test, manufacturing, quality assurance and integrated logistics support.
    • Supporting two current test programs designated by the RQ Director as our #1 and #2 priorities, and the maintenance and enhancement of the test stand to sustain readiness for future test programs.

    Required Qualifications

    • United States Citizenship
    • Ability to obtain and maintain required Secret security clearance
    • Must have one year of experience at the DR-II (GS-12/13 or equivalent) grade level or one year of experience at the DR-III (GS-14 or equivalent) grade level
    • BS Engineering degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering

    Desired Qualifications

    • Experience in either rocket or flight test
    • Experience in program management with responsibility for managing cost/schedule/performance in research and development, test, and/or acquisition program(s)
    • Strong and effective communication skills
    • Demonstrated ability to build strong and effective teams, both internally and with external stakeholders
    • Demonstrated ability to work with government and/or industry partners to meet mission requirements
    • Graduate level degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Management, other Program Management related field, and/or PMP or other similar professional certification
