    Rehabilitation Casework Technician Salary $31,200.00 - $48,058.00 Annually Location Alexander County, NC Job Type Permanent Full-Time Department Dept of Health and Human Services Job Number 18-12959 Closing 11/26/2018 5:00 PM Eastern Description of Work The Rehabilitation Casework Technician position will primarily partner directly with the counselor serving transition aged youth with disabilities in Alexander County Schools and will assist the transition counselor serving Caldwell County Schools to include Pre-Employment Transition Services (PETS). The position is located at Alexander Central High School in Taylorsville, a satellite office of the Hickory Unit. This casework technician provides administrative support and casework documentation assistance for the Counselors serving youth and students with disabilities. Job responsibilities include the following: Setting up and maintaining case files Interviewing consumers and gathering diagnostic information to assist counselors in determining eligibility and developing individualized plans for employment with consumers Scheduling diagnostic evaluations Entering data and documenting provision of substantial services in case management system Follow up with consumers, employers, vendors, and other agency personnel to assess rehabilitation needs and progress towards achieving employment goals Provide support as designated by the counselor Assisting vocational rehabilitation staff with employment marketing skills workshops Working with community employers using the dual customer approach to directly place highly qualified consumers with disabilities in appropriate jobs for successful outcomes Preparing documents, authorizations, invoices, and correspondence as needed This casework technician will be the coordinator for PETS services to youth and students with disabilities, primarily in Alexander County Schools and will provide assistance to Caldwell County on a regular basis, working closely with the Counselors to develop outreach efforts to provide information concerning services available to youth and students with disabilities beginning at age 14. This technician will work with the Counselors to implement PETS services. Travel required within the assigned area . Minimum Education and Experience Requirements High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years of related administrative experience; OR Equivalent combination of education and experience.
