    Electrician II Salary $33,960.00 - $57,493.00 Annually Location Anson County, NC Job Type Permanent Full-Time Department Dept of Public Safety Job Number 18-14291 Closing 1/4/2019 5:00 PM Eastern Description of Work This position is located at Lanesboro Correctional Institution in Polkton, North Carolina. This is journey level work in the construction, installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, equipment, and fixtures. Work assignments are received from a foreman or other supervisor and are performed independently and in accordance with accepted trade practices. New or unusual work orders are usually accompanied by sketches or blueprints. Work is reviewed through inspection of completed work for quality and compliance with work orders and is further evaluated on the basis of the continued workability of equipment, systems, and fixtures repaired or installed. Must be skilled in the use and care of electrical tools. Must be able to locate and correct defects in electrical systems and equipment. Must be able to read and work from blueprints and sketches. Must be able to train apprentices in the electrical trade. Must be able to follow both oral and written instructions. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies Listed below are the knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs) associated with this position. These KSAs, along with the minimum education and experience listed, are required in order to be deemed 'eligible' for the position. Considerable knowledge of the standard practices and methods of the electrical trade. Minimum Education and Experience Requirements High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years of experience in the construction or repair of secondary electrical systems; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
