This is journey level work in the construction, installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, equipment, and fixtures. Work assignments are received from a foreman or other supervisor and are performed independently and in accordance with accepted trade practices. New or unusual work orders are usually accompanied by sketches or blueprints. Work is reviewed through inspection of completed work for quality and compliance with work orders and is further evaluated on the basis of the continued workability of equipment, systems, and fixtures repaired or installed. Must be skilled in the use and care of electrical tools. Must be able to locate and correct defects in electrical systems and equipment. Must be able to read and work from blueprints and sketches. Must be able to train apprentices in the electrical trade. Must be able to follow both oral and written instructions.
