    Correctional Lieutenant I Salary $33,960.00 - $57,493.00 Annually Location Tyrrell County, NC Job Type Permanent Full-Time Department Dept of Public Safety Job Number 18-14264 Closing 1/7/2019 5:00 PM Eastern Description of Work Anticipated Vacancy : This position is located a Tyrrell Prison Work Farm #3070, Columbia NC. An adult male minimum custody facility housing 500+ inmates. This position is responsible for assisting in planning, supervising and coordinating adult activities in a minimum custody facility. Employees supervisor Correctional Sergeant I's. Position may service as Officer-in-Charge (OIC) . Position assist in planning and supervising personnel actions, administrative affairs, Officer's work schedules and coordinating activities involving the discipline, security and the welfare of the offender population. Employee's responsibilities are primary custodial in nature serving as shift supervisor. Position reports to Correctional Assistant Superintendent II. Must eligible for certification by the NC Criminal Justice Education Training and Standards Commission. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies Listed below are the knowledge, skills and abilities ( KSAs ) associated with this position. These KSAs , along with the minimum education and experience listed, are required in order to be deemed "eligible" for the position. Therefore, you must demonstrate through documented experience or provide supporting information within the body of your application to demonstrate your possession of ALL KSAs listed. Documented supervisory skills in a prison facility Knowledge of facility operations Knowledge of Prisons' policy and procedures Documented report writing skills Currently on Correctional Lieutenant's eligibility list Minimum Education and Experience Requirements High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years of experience as a Correctional Sergeant; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
