The Division of State History Museums collects and preserves artifacts and other historical materials relating to the history and heritage of North Carolina in a local, regional, national and international context to assist people in understanding how the past influences the present. The division interprets history through exhibitions, educational programs, and publications available to the visitor on-site or through distance-learning technologies. Description of Work: The Museum of the Albemarle, a regional museum with the division of state history museums, promotes the understanding of history and material culture primarily of the Albemarle region in which it is located and secondarily for the entire state for the educational benefit of all people. Prepare design concepts, technical drawings, and layouts to design exhibitions to be displayed at Museum of the Albemarle and for travel. Use design programs including Creative Cloud programs such as Illustrator, Indesign, and Photoshop to produce and design graphics for exhibits. Use design programs to produce digital promotional pieces for museum and Friends of the Museum of the Albemarle. Travel and night and weekend work may occasionally be required. Ability to bend, stoop, balance, reach, stand, walk and push. Ability to lift 20 pounds of force, occasionally unassisted. Management Preferences: Experience creating and editing videos Experience in interior design Two years of graphic design experience.
