Specialist REQUISITION #: AL-018-18-HQ CLEARANCE: Not Required LOCATION:
Huntsville, AL REPORTS TO: Proposal Manager FLSA STATUS: Regular
Full-Time Exempt SUMMARY: SABG is looking for an experienced Proposal
Specialist to plan and develop proposals in response to customer
solicitations; develop management, technical and past performance
volumes; consult with technical staff; and work with review teams. This
person will be dynamic, energetic, self-motivated, outgoing and
personable with a heightened attention to detail. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable

position. * Writes compelling and responsive bid content. * Assist in
the maintenance and enhancement of an electronic repository of content
utilized in contracting and proposal processes especially product
descriptions, frequently used clauses, etc. * Synthesizes text and ideas
from multiple authors, including SMEs and consultants; Compile
information for each section and edit language to ensure one voice. Edit
for consistency, clarity, grammar, and syntax, and compile with client
requirements. * Ensures quality and completeness throughout the process.
- Partners with Contracts Manager, Pricing Analyst, Program Managers,
and Review Teams to complete the response and then capture new language
to use as a base moving forward. * Coordinates with other internal
groups as necessary to complete proposal, e.g. Contracting, HR,
Accounting, Marketing, etc. * Monitor and evaluate proposal success
rates to identify potential areas for process improvements; initiate and
coordinate process improvement efforts. * Assist with sales and
marketing projects as needed, such as creating marketing materials,
updating websites, creating presentation materials, etc. * Conducts a
thorough analysis of (RFPs, RFIs, RFQs, etc.) to understand scope and
business and technical requirements. * Manages the project, including
scheduling (and participating in) kick-off meetings to discuss response
strategy, drafting, editing and polishing response documents to
illustrate win themes and common voice. SUPERVISION: This position has
no supervisory requirements MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: The ideal candidate
will be a highly motivated, team player with a passion for creative
writing, graphic layout experience, and a proven ability to meet
deadlines under pressure. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: * Bachelors
Degree in journalism, communications, English or related discipline and
two years of experience required * Experience in drafting and/or
contributing to proposals (RFPs, RFIs, RFQs etc.) responses * Excellent
research skills and the ability to write persuasively and articulately *
Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail * Professional
certifications such as CPCM, CFCM, CCCM, APMP, or PMP highly desired
COMPUTER SKILLS: * Must be technologically savvy un order to navigate
and organize electronic submissions and online bids. * Skilled in
operating a personal computer and standard office equipment * Must have
proficiency in a variety of computer software applications in word
processing, spreadsheets, database, (MS Office: Word, Excel, Outlook,
PowerPoint) CLEARANCE: Not required but DoD clearance a plus

governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business
correspondence, and/or procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present
information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients,
customers, and the general public. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to apply
concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to
practical situations. REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems,
collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to
question activities and issues in all functional areas and make sound
business decisions based on that data. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical
